That should be a title for a book, or Return of the Droid – whichever. I was tinkering around at Amazon looking for books re: by glass fusion hobby and started looking at the Kindle (once again). In the add it said you can download to your computer, iPhone, Mac or Blackberry.
I wanted to see what a book would look like on the Droid so I went to Market Place and searched. I found a couple one of them being The Critique of Practical Reason by Immanuel Kant – light reading by the fireside. I was impressed that reading on the Droid did not turn me off.
So that leads to the next venture, back to the Market Place.
Next I search and find newspapers. I picked the first FREE app (the book cost .99) and lo and behold I now have a treasury of newspapers from all over the world to review. I can upgrade to the “Pro” version but for the time being this is really great. I am reading about the Google Nexus One in the Wall St. Journal and decide the I am content with my Droid – at least for the time being.
From the Wall St. Journal I discovered that ATT (or is it AT&T) will have exclusive rights to the Dell Android. I wonder, from everything I read, if AT&T can handle the Droid?
I think the important thing is that Apple set the point however they are being chased fast and furiously. The way we have been communicating in the past is changing and at the present the change is getting up to lightening speed.
Playing catch up is not going to be easy, I guess someone will attempt to use lawsuits and or laws/rules to stop them but this will be like “spitting into the wind”. Once the door is opened there will be no going back, hang on.
One caveat; I will need more screen space for all the little icons and I have yet to download a game, how negligent of me. Next up will be downloading a podcast to the Droid to see how I can make that work. Google has a place for me to do that.
