I have found some new things that I have to pass along. First (from Net@Night) is the introduction to Squarespace for blogging. This is a new place which appears to have a great deal to offer. At present I am going through the User Manual and FAQ’s. One thing that is important to me is the ability to use Windows Live Writer from Microsoft as my publishing tool of choice.

Next check out Microsoft Labs. There is some GREAT information there and some very good video’s about the potential for the computing future. I downloaded Canvas for OneNote and installed it to test. This is a Beta version and I think it has great points of interest in using OneNote. My only thought is that while in Beta it makes a “copy” of your data to protect you and then you work with that copy and from what I gather it does not make changes to your original data in OneNote. So all I will be doing for the time being is playing however that is also a habit of mine.

Well onward to getting a haircut. I started to spend my time this morning writing and then got lost on Microsoft Labs and watching video’s, great fun and it is “my time”!

Windows 7 Rocks

OK I have discovered my prime issue with Windows 7 was it would freeze up all the time if I left it on over night. After many night of concern I woke up one morning and remembered that when my notebook computer goes to sleep it does not respond to my wireless mouse at all, I have to use the touchpad on the notebook to wake it up. There was this sudden “A HA” moment when I realized that my desktop has both a wireless mouse and a wireless keyboard. All I had to do was reboot it and go into the power management controls and set it up so that the monitor will turn off and the hard drives can quit however the computer cannot go to sleep. Once I set that up no more problem.

You know, for non-techie kind a guy I am rather intuitive, it just takes me longer.

I am not sure what the issue was with my printer that I could not install it. I tried several ways and several times and then tonight, trying once more, Windows 7 found the wireless HP 6988 printer, connected to it, installed the drivers and made it work. Another mystery solved.

I have blogged from it so Mesh is installed as well as all the Windows Live software and Workspace.Live.com. Outlook has all the files, email addresses and I have installed all of Office 2007. My next venture is going to be my Adobe software.

Whoever is in charge out there you better get this released before the Beta timing runs out.
